This year’s edition of CPhI has once again proven the excitement and vitality of the pharmaceutical industry. Among the most significant highlights, the recognition of Enrico Zodio as CEO of the year during the prestigious CPhI Pharma Awards has shed light on an exceptional leader. Furthermore, the spotlight on companies like PROCOS, committed to a constant pursuit of quality, technology, and human resources, has emphasized the importance of these pillars in the pharmaceutical sector. All these positive and inspiring elements have sparkled in me the desire to share these reflections in an editorial dedicated to the crucial role of investments in these areas.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

With over 30 years of experience in pharmaceutical research and development, Dr. Paolo Paissoni is
dedicated to innovation and collaboration in early-stage drug development, crucial for successful clinicals
and commercialization. Graduating cum laude with an M.S. in Chemistry from Torino University in 1984,
Paolo has consistently demonstrated expertise in technical innovations, contributing to the success of new
products (NCEs) and optimized processes, with numerous published patents. His career spans esteemed roles at Farmitalia Carlo Erba and Antibioticos S.p.A., focusing on Anthracyclines development, and 13 years at PROCOS S.p.A. as Head of R&D and Business Development. Currently, Paolo serves as an active Board Member of CBC-PROCOS S.p.A since 2009.
