EU chemical legislation – Overkill or necessary precaution?

We will all be aware that chemical legislation within the European Union (EU) is some of the most stringent in the world. This is particularly so for plant protection and biocidal products which by their nature are intended to deliver a controlling effect on biological systems.

Richard Elsmore is a Partner within ERM and has over 40 years’ experience of working within the speciality chemical industry and in the area of biocides.
Former MD of JSC International Limited, Richard has held a number of senior roles with speciality chemical manufacturers and formulators and has experience of working with a wide range of biocidal active substances and biocidal products; he has a practical background of operating within the global speciality chemicals market and with FMCG’s. Richard has worked in technical, regulatory and business management positions and has been involved with a number of industry bodies at EU level.
