INTRODUCTION: SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR) AND ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL & GOVERNANCE (ESG)
In 2015, all member states of the United Nations adopted “The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”. The ultimate goal is to end poverty by improving health and education, reducing inequality and spur economic growth and in the meantime tackle climate change and preserving our natural resources.
The centre piece of this work is a set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is crystal clear that these goals can only be achieved if all stakeholders cooperate in a true global partnership.
